Following the 2021 global score release, the environmental non-profit organization CDP has listed CEMEX and HeidelbergCement as two of the globally leading companies in its Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) published last month.
The SER evaluates scope 3 emission objectives, company efforts to engage suppliers on climate action, and close monitoring of supply chain, based on CDP’s climate change questionnaire. The companies with the best SER are celebrated as Supplier Engagement Leaders – which this year is the top 8% of companies.
“We are pleased with CDP´s recognition of our decarbonization efforts and happy to be part of this prestigious group of leaders in climate action. It is further proof of our commitment to our goal of delivering only net-zero CO2 concrete by 2050,” said Vicente Saiso, global sustainability vice president at CEMEX.
“Responsible sourcing, long-term collaboration and the implementation of high sustainability standards along the entire supply chain are central elements of HeidelbergCement’s corporate strategy,” said HeidelbergCement.
CDP also recently awarded CEMEX and HeidelbergCement its highest rating for climate action leadership, including the companies in its prestigious ‘A List.’ Both companies were also recognized for their efforts to ensure water security in the world.
